DECO

Located in downtown Raleigh, DECO carries the work of more than 75 local artisans and makers. DECO is an adventure every time you visit.
Featuring the only Holly Aiken boutique, you can work with the DECO team to create your own custom piece at their bag building station. DECO also has a curated retail space featuring local artists and makers inside of Origin Hotel. Fun fact, show your Origin keycard at DECO and receive 10% off your purchase!

Rialto Theatre

Ready to take in a show? Grab a drink and a seat at this nearby theater. On the 1st, 3rd, 5th Friday of every month, experience a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture show! Check their website for other titles and special screenings.

Downtown Raleigh Independent Shops

Look no further for the best local shopping experience. DTR Independent shops is a collective of locally and independently owner shops in downtown Raleigh. Join them on 3rd Thursdays for a multi shop event featuring specials, promotions, sips & bites, and extended shopping hours. Check the hashtag #3rdThursdayDTR to see who is participating each month.

RDU Observation Deck

Headed in or out of Raleigh-Durham Airport? RDU’s Observation Park provides sweeping views of RDU’s 10,000-foot runway and is located near the Air Traffic Control Tower. Spend hours plane-watching and listening to pilot-tower communications via audio speakers on the elevated observation platform. Open from sunrise to sunset daily, this is a great spot to relax with the kids including a picnic and play area.

Randleigh Dairy Heritage Museum

Educational and Delicious! This museum is a unique agri-tourism experience for children and adults to learn how wholesome milk gets from the farm to the table. All Howling Cow products are made right on this campus at NC state. At the end, you get to sample some of the delicious and freshly made ice cream.

Father & Son Antiques

While it might not look like much from the outside, this vintage antique shop is within walking distance from Origin and the perfect spot to kick off a day of exploration in the Warehouse District. The only problem will be making room in your suitcase for all of your newfound treasures!

CAM Raleigh

Don’t miss out on an array of unique exhibits at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, located in the heart of the Warehouse District, just steps away from Origin Raleigh. Explore ever-changing displays from regional, national and international artists. Pro tip: the museum has no permanent collection, so you’re always guaranteed a fresh, new experience each time you visit CAM Raleigh.

Videri Chocolate Factory

Within walking distance from Origin hotel, you’ll find a chocolate lovers dream! Videri chocolate factory offers self-guided tours of their chocolate production. Once you’ve learned how its made, its time to try some of the unique flavors at the chocolate counter offered by the piece or by the box. Videri’s facility is allergy friendly, the chocolates made with organic and fair trade ingredients, and they offer many vegan options. Something for everyone!

Morgan Street Food Hall

Right down the street from Origin hotel Raleigh, Morgan Street Food Hall features local eateries and restaurants as well as local food retailers. Bring your crew and share multiple items. It’s the best way to have a taste of everything!

Transfer Co. Food Hall

Continue the tour of Raleigh food halls with the recently opened Transfer Co. Food Hall, home to bon appetit magazine’s highly recommended Benchwarmer Bagels and the first Raleigh outpost for acclaimed Asheville brewery Burial Beer Co. Your must order? A #5 sandwich at Benchwarmer Bagels, a savory, craveable combo of smoked fish spread, pickle of the day, potato chips, and roe.

Lucette Grace

Downtown Raleigh is fortunate is to have this contemporary patisserie. Stop by for a house made pastry, coffee or tea, and simple lunch menu. This is the perfect spot to treat yourself! We highly recommend macarons! Their beautiful colors and flavors ensure you’ll want to take some home to enjoy later.

Beasley’s Chicken + Honey

No trip to Raleigh is complete without a visit to one of James Beard Award winning chef Ashley Christensen’s restaurants, and Beasley’s is the perfect jumping off point. Pro tip: arrive before 11 a.m. or after 2 p.m. for the best chance at snagging a table and ask for a side of honey butter with the Fried Chicken + Waffles! Crispy Cheese Grit Fries on the snack menu are also not to be missed

Drink

Brewery Bhavana

Located in the historic Moore Square Park in downtown Raleigh, Brewery Bhavana is a local gem not to be missed. The space combines a brewery, dim sum restaurant, flower shop, and bookstore creating a living room for people to create, collaborate, and dream.

Raleigh Raw

A community inspired juice bar and café serving local, natural, and unprocessed food. Vibrant colors of fresh pressed juice fill the cases along with healthy grab and go snacks. Try a house made poke bowl, available as a vegan option too! Be sure to check out their events calendar for community and fitness based programs held upstairs.

Trophy Brewery & Pizza

Right up the street from Origin Raleigh, Trophy taproom and pizza shop on Morgan St. is the home to the original Trophy experience. You can always expect something exciting, creative and very limited supply on the tap list and something tasty on your plate. Named the best pizzeria in North Carolina, the pies are always made with fresh and often local ingredients – and always pair well with a Trophy beer. Our favorite is the Daredevil!

Boxcar Bar & Arcade

Drink. Play. Hang.
Boxcar exclusively pours American Craft Drafts in addition to a full liquor car and seasonal cocktail menu. Time will fly by as you play over 100 classic and modern arcade games, pinball, and console games. Want some more activity? Be sure to throw down on the DDR dancefloor or shred some tunes on Guitar Hero.

42 and Lawrence

42 and Lawrence is a coffee lab created by Larry’s coffee. This downtown location serves up specialty espresso drinks, cold brew, draft lattes, and tasty experiments. Be sure to ask for their drink of the day and pair it with a fresh baked pastry. Looking for a quick pick me up? Nitro Cold brew is the delicious answer to your caffeine needs.

Bittersweet

The perfect nightcap for any weekend itinerary, Bittersweet is a terribly wonderful cocktail, dessert and coffee lounge with an all-natural, local, seasonal menu. Cozy up with a Pirate Coffee (hot, but you can also get it iced) before heading back to Origin for a night of much-needed rest and relaxation.
